Ed Stevens was born on the 10th of august 1954 in Halifax Nova Scotia. He started playing guitar at the early age of twelve. He played his first gig at « Terre des hommes » in the summer of 1969.

Ed Stevens started to play professionally in 1974.He met recording artist Stanley Frank (Polydor Records) then moved on with Cruiser (Network Records) « Rollin' with the times » then Leyden Zar (CBS).

In 1990 Ed Stevens composed music for a weekly children show called Emu-Tv, followed by a full-length motion picture called « Hammerdown » both produced by James Shavick. Lately you can hear the music of Ed Stevens in a documentary on PBS called « The Renaissance man » (Harry Rosen).

Ed Stevens has been working the Montreal scene for over 30 years and co-wrote many songs for local artists (April Wine) (Cruiser). And he's seen performing live (Louise Portal) (Walter Rossi) (Denis Ducharme) he also collaborates as a composer with various artists from across the country. Ed Stevens is new at instrumental guitar music. It is just another way of showing his immense talent for music.
